Dear Families,
This week I have had an opportunity to meet with staff and discuss professional learning goals, debrief following Remote Learning and talk about how the students are settling back into face-to-face learning. It has been wonderful to hear about how settled the students are and how they seem to have jumped straight back into work. Many of us were concerned that despite everyone’s best efforts, students would still fall back in their learning. I am pleased to say that, with a great deal of support from parents and carers, many students have progressed well and some groups are at, or very close to, where we would expect them to be without lockdown. Over these past two years, we have experienced a partnership like never before where parents and teachers were working side-by-side. I want to thank you again for your efforts, particularly during this most recent lockdown.
This year we are revisiting the school’s Mission and Vision. The staff have been looking at what is important to us here at St Thomas Aquinas and what type of a school we aspire to create. When we started this journey, I had thought we would be able to invite groups of parents in to collect your ideas, however due to the current climate we have to do things a little differently. We have taken feedback from our surveys, and conversations with staff and students to help to identify everyone’s hopes and dreams for our school moving forward. We have used this to create a draft vision for St Thomas Aquinas which is now ready for comment. I would appreciate any feedback on this vision and on whether you think we have missed something.
We are a community inspired by St Thomas Aquinas to deepen our faith,
to seek knowledge and thrive.
Please follow the survey link to comment:
We will leave this survey open until next Tuesday.
I hope with ACT and NSW opening up further, everyone is beginning to get back to normal and settle back into routine.
Take care and God Bless

Communication - Compass Parent Portal
The Compass Parent Portal (CPP) is an essential online portal that allows you to interact with your child’s school and access up-to-date information.
Please note that our school will not be using SMS and Compass PAY as we already have other payment options available for the payment of school fees, camps etc. These options include EFTPOS, BPAY, Qkr and Direct Debits.
You should have received your log-in credentials via email and you will be able to log into the Parent Portal through the Compass App (Android & IOS0 or Desktop). If you have not received your Compass log-in details, please contact the Front Office. Only one email per parent/carer is used in Compass. If you wish to change the email address used by Compass, please change your preferred email address via the Compass Portal or send an email to office.staquinas@cg.catholic.ed.au.
Please note that the Phone App has less functions than the Desktop App. To search for our school, please search for WEST BELCONNEN, not the School as there are many St Thomas Aquinas schools around Australia. If installing Compass on your phone, please scroll down when searching the school via the suburb to locate our school.
Below are some quick links for parents:
