Dear St Thomas Aquinas Community,
I hope this message finds you well and filled with pride for our wonderful school community. As we continue to embrace the spirit of learning and community engagement, I would like to take a moment to highlight some recent events that have showcased the incredible talents of our students and staff.
Firstly, I am thrilled to share that our school choir had the honour of performing Australian songs at the Great Hall of Parliament House during the flag ceremony last week. It was a proud moment for our school, as the choir’s beautiful harmonies resonated throughout the hall, celebrating our vibrant culture and heritage. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the children who participated, and especially to Mrs. Naomi Wicks, our dedicated choir leader. Her superb leadership and passion for music have truly inspired our students, and we are grateful for the time and effort she invests in nurturing their talents.
In addition to the choir's remarkable performance, I would like to commend everyone for their fantastic costumes during our Book Week Parade last Friday. It was delightful to see our students and staff dressed as their favourite book characters, sparking joy and creativity throughout the school. A special thanks to our school librarian, Mrs. Rachael Hind, for her outstanding leadership in organizing this event. Her enthusiasm for reading and commitment to fostering a love for literature among our students is truly commendable.
The TTFM Survey has now closed. I would like to thank each and every student, staff and family that participated in the survey. Your contribution to this survey assists in the success and growth of our school community.
We ask that you keep our Year 4 students in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of the Eucharist. I thank Mrs Meaghan Younger & Mr Jeremy Finlayson and our Year 4 families for preparing our students for this special celebration.
This Friday we welcome all our dad and dad like figures to our annual Donuts with Dad's breakfast followed by our Father's Day Prayer Celebration led by 2 Green at 9:30am in the hall. We are looking forward to celebrating and thanking these amazing role models that our students look up to on a daily basis. We hope you enjoy Friday morning and have a fabulous day on Sunday.
As we move forward, let us continue to celebrate the achievements of our students and support one another in our educational journey. Thank you for being an integral part of the St Thomas Aquinas community.
Warm regards,
Tim Cleary

Partners in Parenting (PiP-Ed)
PiP-Ed is a new, updated version of the award winning, evidence-based parenting program ‘Partners in Parenting’. The program is designed to support parents of teenagers struggling with school attendance (often called ‘school refusal’) in the context of anxiety and/or depression, by equipping parents with strategies to improve their parenting confidence and support their teen’s mental health and education. The program is self-guided and completed entirely online.

MyWay+ is Transport Canberra’s next generation ticketing system which puts all public transport services in one place. It will offer more ways to pay for public transport and introduce new digital platforms for journey planning and accessing real-time information.
The switch over to MyWay+ will happen later this year. Until then, students should continue to use their current MyWay card or a paper ticket from a ticket vending machine to pay for travel on bus and light rail services.
Families should ensure their child’s MyWay card is registered to protect the balance, as Transport Canberra can only process refunds and transfer credits for registered MyWay cards.
Register your MyWay card: https://www.transport.act.gov.au/tickets-and-myway/register-myway
