Principal's Report
Dear Families,
I want to begin by welcoming you all back for Term 3.
We had hoped that everything would have settled down and we could get back to normal, but unfortunately the recent outbreaks in Victoria, Sydney and the South Coast have meant that the ACT and Catholic Education is taking a cautious approach. At this stage, schools will continue to operate as they did at the end of term 2. I want to thank everyone for your patience and support, especially during pick-up. While this process has taken a little longer, most people have been very patient and have even taken time to thank staff for their efforts during this time.
At the end of last Term, Tara Cheyne took time to thank staff for their work with a morning tea. She also had a chance to talk with students about their experiences with remote learning and returning back to face-to-face teaching. If you haven’t seen the article in the Canberra Weekly, follow this link to read the lovely things Tara had to say about our community and the efforts of teachers across the ACT.
At this stage, we will be able to go ahead with our Sacramental program. Mrs Skye McPadden has put together a wonderful program and I look forward to seeing some of those making their First Eucharist in the coming weeks.
I would like to reach out to those families who are struggling financially at this time. If you are struggling to pay your school fees, please contact Lee Black in the Front Office who can provide you with information on how to apply for a reduction of waiver. The fees committee is a very small group and your privacy is paramount, so any information you provide to support your application will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Please keep the Russell family in your prayers. Jessica in kindergarten is undergoing weekly chemotherapy to treat a tumor arising from NF1. So far, Jessica has been a little trooper, participating in everything she possibly can at school. Jessica’s condition also means that we have to be extra vigilant in sending children with any signs of a cold or flu home. If your child is sick, please keep them at home until they are well again.
God Bless
Principal
