Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 2. We have only been here for one week and already so much has happened.

Our swimming carnival was a great success. Thank you to Mrs Kelly Scanlan for organising the event and to all of the wonderful parent volunteers for acting as time keepers, judges, recorders, etc. We would not be able to hold these events without your help. Kinder to Year 2 stayed behind this year and enjoyed some fun water activities organised by the infants teachers until the rain arrived. All of the children seemed to have a wonderful time.

Tonight we have our Meet and Greet night. I am looking forward to meeting many of you tonight and learning more about everyone in this community. We will meet in the hall and then move to the courtyard to meet the teachers and enjoy the BBQ supplied by the Community Council. If it is raining we will move inside and you will be able to meet your child(ren)’s teacher in the classroom.

This Saturday and Sunday, parents of children as well as children who are making either of their Sacraments are to attend either the 6pm Mass on Saturday or the 9am Mass on Sunday. Fr Tom will hold a brief meeting following both masses to let you know about the parish and home components for this preparation. I sent home a letter last week to parents outlining how the school will still support students in the preparation for each Sacrament through a complementary program at school.

As the school grows the corridor has become a much busier place at pick-up time. These crowds can be quite overwhelming for small children so if you could collect your children from the external classroom door we would very much appreciate it. Those classes without an external door will exit through the library to the courtyard. Could I also ask that parents and carers stand back from the doors so the children can exit easily.

Last year there was a change to our drive through and pick-up procedure. Parents can now drive through and pick up their children between the hall and the basketball courts. To make this drive through as smooth as possible, we ask that all cars exiting the gravel car park behind the church follow the same exit as the drive through line. We have found that if we have cars trying to exit near the crossing it delays all of the cars. If everyone follows the correct procedure we should have everyone out of this line well before 3.15pm.

Thank you again for all of your support.

Yours in Faith
