May is Family Reading Month

Dear Families,

Did you know Scholastic has initiated and is celebrating National Family Reading Month this May

Scholastic has created this initiative to encourage families to read together on a regular basis.

“While most parents recognise the value of reading with their kids, with today’s busy schedules it can be hard to find the time. Just 10 minutes of reading each day exposes children to over 600,000 words per year. Why not make the commitment this May to putting aside at least 10 minutes each day to read with your child”

Scholastic will livestream an event on Thursday 1 May at 11AM AEST via Facebook and YouTube where Mr Luke (from Scholastic Australia) will be reading his book “Guess What We Are Doing Today?”
