Dear Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well. There are many staff and students currently unwell in our community with flu and other related chest colds and coughs. We have several cases of Covid in our community and a total of 12 staff absent today for several reasons. As a result, we ask you to be vigilant and again adopt the protocols of keeping sick children at home. We will be sending students who present with symptoms home as needed and we are being vigilant in sanitising the school – including regular handwashing and disinfecting common surfaces.

As we continue to navigate through these challenging times, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the recent celebration of Pentecost Sunday and its significance in our Catholic community.

Pentecost Sunday, often referred to as the birthday of the Church, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and marks the beginning of the spread of the Gospel message. It serves as a reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit and the call to live by the values of Pentecost in our daily lives.

At St. Thomas Aquinas Primary School, we strive to foster a community rooted in these values. The spirit of Pentecost invites us to be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and to embrace the virtues of love, unity, and service. It reminds us of the importance of nurturing a welcoming and inclusive environment where all members of our community feel valued and supported.

During this current enrolment period, we encourage all parents to engage actively in conversations with friends, family, and colleagues about the positive message of St. Thomas Aquinas Primary. By sharing our experiences and highlighting the unique opportunities our school offers, we can inspire others to consider joining our community.

As we move forward, let us continue to embody the spirit of Pentecost by living out its values in our interactions and relationships. Together, we can create a vibrant and thriving Catholic community where our children can grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Warm regards,

Tim Cleary
