Message from Mrs Taylor
Dear Families,
Welcome back to Term 3. It’s hard to believe that we are already half way through the year! We have had an influx of enrolments this term with four new families and six students joining us this week. Students have already started to make the children feel welcome. If you happen to see a new face in the courtyard, please feel free to say hello and welcome them to our community.
We also welcome Mrs Therese Bondoc to the Early Learning Centre. She comes with a great deal of experience as an Educator, having previously worked at St Jude’s ELC in Holder. Mrs Bondoc recently completed her Teaching qualifications and replaces Ms Newth who was successful in gaining the Director position at St Joseph’s Early Learning Centre. I am sure you will join me in congratulating Ms Newth on this promotion and will make Mrs Bondoc feel welcome in our community.
Yesterday, staff worked with the UR FaB team from the Childhood Early Intervention Program at CAMHS. The UR FaB team will be working with all students and some families with children in Years 1 and 2. They will provide lessons to students about ways to manage challenges and set-backs and what they can do when they have “big feelings” bubbling away inside. A questionnaire will be sent home shortly to families in these year groups to help inform some of this work.
We have a number of exciting events planned for this term with an aim to ‘get back to normal’. A few key events include:
- Grandparents day - Friday 28th July
- Learning Journeys - Tuesday 22nd August
- Disco - Thursday 31st August
- Andrew Fuller presentation - Monday 4th September
To name just a few…
I look forward to seeing you all in the school over this term.
Take care and God bless
Principal
