Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome to Week 10.

Congratulations and thank you to Year 6 and everyone who supported the Arcade Game Fundraiser for True Vine Academy. Year 6 students made a variety of arcade games for students to play. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the day and we managed to raise $1,022.50! Thank you again for being so generous in supporting our sponsor school.

During the break, the National Education Commission will visit our Early Learning Centre as an exemplar model for Catholic ELCs. The National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) is the peak body for Catholic education in Australia and is responsible for the national coordination and representation of Catholic schools and school authorities. It is made up of representative Directors for Catholic Education across the country, clergy, deans of Catholic Universities and members of state Catholic Education Commissions. We are incredibly proud of our wonderful ELC and the way we support our youngest students to learn and grow.

Just a little reminder that school photos will be held on the first Tuesday back for ELC and Thursday for the end of the week ELC class and all primary school students. Students will be expected to wear full summer uniform. If you find that your child has grown out of their summer uniform, there is a reasonable range of items in the second-hand uniform pool. You can also purchase new items at Macdonalds Children’s Wear which is now located in Lowes, Belconnen Mall.

Tomorrow, two of the school’s student leaders will accompany me to the Memorial for Queen Elizabeth II at Parliament House. The Queen has been a constant presence for most of us for the whole of our lives. Whether you are a Monarchist, a Republican or something in between, I think everyone would agree that Queen Elizabeth was a highly respected leader, whose faith in God served as a constant guide. During her reign she said many wise things, but today I will leave you with this:

Each day is a new beginning, I know that the only way to live my life is to try to do what is right, to take the long view, to give of my best in all that the day brings, and to put my trust in God.

I wish all of you a safe and restful term break. If you are travelling, travel well and I look forward to seeing you all again in Term 4.

Take care and God bless

Yours in Faith
