Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
I had the pleasure of accompanying Years 5 and 6 students on their camp at Fitzroy Falls last week. The camp staff commented on how polite and engaged students were and that we had quickly become one of their favourite schools. Despite the rain, students participated in team and individual challenges including the high ropes, zip-line, big swing and bush craft. It would have been easy for students to give up, especially given the weather, but they continued on and participated in all of the activities with great enthusiasm. I thank Mr Matt Smith, Mrs Sarieda Snow, Miss Samantha Pigram, Mr Michael Prosper and Mr Joshua Mackenzie for giving up three days away from their own families to provide supervision and support to the students. The camp staff have found a few items left behind by students and will bring these to Canberra sometime in the next two weeks - we will let you know when they arrive.
On Thursday, students in Kindergarten to Year 4 went to see The Twits at the Canberra Theatre. By all accounts, our students represented the school incredibly well. They demonstrated excellent audience manners and their teachers commented on what a pleasure it was to take the students on this excursion. While some restrictions have tightened, it’s nice to still be able to take students on excursions.
It is with a little sadness that I have to let you know Mrs Krystle Burnett will be leaving us in Week 5. Krystle successfully gained an outreach position with a university. Krystle said, it was a difficult decision as she will miss the community enormously, but the flexibility will allow her to spend more time with her family. I have advertised this position, so if you know of an enthusiastic Science/STEM or primary teacher please pass it on.
Take care and God bless
Yours in Faith
Leah Taylor
