Principal's Report
Dear Families,
Well Term 4 events are happening thick and fast. I feel like we are trying to squeeze everything we missed at the beginning of the year into our final term for 2020.
We were very fortunate that our Year 6 students were able to attend camp in Jindabyne last week. Most schools had to cancel their camps this year, so we were very lucky to have restrictions lifted so camp could still go ahead. I was able to join the students on the Wednesday and have dinner with them on Wednesday night. It was wonderful to be able to have a chat and get to know them a little better. From what I have heard, they had a wonderful time, happily participating in all of the activities. I would like to thank Michelle Mason, Ella Barry, Skye McPadden and Michael Prosper for taking time away from their own families to accompany the students. Sadly, I had to return to Canberra on Wednesday to attend Principal meetings on Thursday and Friday.
At the beginning of the week we had Questacon visit to present their shows over two days in the hall. Children seemed to really love the bangs and smoke, and even learned a little more about science in the process.
On Friday, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day. We are truly blessed to have very dedicated teachers here at St Thomas Aquinas who love working with your children, so it was wonderful to be able to take a moment to thank them for the work they do.
We are looking forward to our Ninja Colour Run on Friday 4th December. This will be our only school fundraiser for the year so I encourage you to help your child to seek sponsorship for the event over the next month. Money raised will go towards a number of projects at the school. The excitement will start to build as we start to let children know about prizes for highest money raisers. Stay tuned!
God Bless
Principal
